CLYDEBANK 2 GLENAFTON ATHLETIC 1
Several changes were made to the team that lost out in the West of Scotland Cup last week. Aaron Scoular, Alan Middleton, Michael Hart and Jose Quitongo came into the starting eleven in place of Chic Connolly, Ryan Wilson, Jamie MacDonald and Joe Savage.
The Glens found themselves two goals down within the first eight minutes. The Bankies opened in 6 minutes through Alan Vezza helping himself to a free header from a corner kick. Two minutes later Steven Dymock capitalised on a fumble by keeper Ally Semple to double the home side’s advantage.
A spirited Glens performance in the second half was rewarded with a goal in 54 minutes from midfielder DAVIE CLAPPERTON. Despite having the better of the half in terms of possession the visitors couldn't add to their tally and indeed it was the home side who came close to scoring again but Semple pulled off a great save from former Peasie Stevie Dallas.
