Glenafton Athletic vs. Dalry Thistle: Super League 1st Division

Scorer: Feroz

New signings defender Jordan Mullen and midfielder Aaron Scoular went straight into the starting eleven against Glenafton's bogey team Dalry Thistle. For long spells in a forgetful first half for the home side it seemed that Thistle would again take the spoils. The visitors squandered a glorious chance on 13 minutes to take the lead when lack of composure saw a shot from close range go wide with the open goal gaping.  Another thirteen minutes passed before Glens created their first real chance but Simon Eeles shot after a trademark run was foiled by keeper and defender. Dalry continued to look the likelier of the two sides to break the deadlock but the half ended goal-less. HT Glens 0 Dalry 0

The second half had only been marginally better than the first and a goal-less stalemate seemed inevitable until the closing seven minutes. Joe Savage had the ball in the net sliding it home from six yards out but was deemed to be offside.  Two minutes later a flashing header from a Dalry substitute went inches wide. On 86 minutes CRAIG FEROZ made the breakthrough when he headed home a free-kick.  Ally Semple pulled off a great save seconds later as Dalry broke upfield from the kick-off. At the other end Savage was felled at the edge of the box and Simon Eeles free-kick crashed off the inside of the far post. In the last minute Semple was adjudged to have impeded the Dalry forward in the box but then pulled off  a great save from the resultant spot-kick, blocked the first attempt to sink the rebound and then smothered the second to secure the three points for Glens.
