CUMNOCK JUNIORS 4 GLENAFTON ATHLETIC 3
Scorers: Eeles,Quitongo, Feroz
The Glens found themselves with a mountain to climb after going 2-0 down with only 8 minutes on the clock through goals from Stevie Murray and Gary McMenamin. The summit came into view two minutes later when SIMON EELES crashed in an unsaveable shot to half the home side lead. Both teams had chances to add to their tally but there were no further goals in a frantic first-half. Three minutes into the new half and the Glens were on level pegging when a Craig Feroz shot hit the post and JOSE QUITONGO was first to react to knock home the rebound. The mountain re-appeared on 55 minutes when the visitors conceded two own goals in a four minute spell, Alan Middleton and Chris Merrilees the unfortunate defenders. Back came the Glens and Feroz was felled in the box but the appeals for a spot-kick were stifled as the referee booked "the Bull" for diving. With the red-rag raised CRAIG FEROZ fired home the Glens' third. Trialist Brian Miller's header looked to have leveled things in the closing seconds but keeper Derek Barnes pulled off a match-winning save.
