Glenafton Athletic vs. Beith Juniors : Stagecoach Super League Premier Division

Beith keeper Keith Ross was the visitor's star man with two stunning saves. The first came  came after 12 minutes when a Joe Savage shot from short range looked net bound before Ross reached out to finger tip the ball round the post.  With the wind at their backs the Glens were on the front foot for most of the half but could not capitalise on their possession or from the numerous set pieces conceded by the visitors . In stark contrast the Beith front line toiled to carve out an effort of any note on goal. Half time Glens 0 Beith 0

Beith started the second half brightly but still without testing Chris Fahey in the Glens goal. The home side fought their way back into the match and a Steven McGregor header beat Ross but went narrowly wide. The visitors broke up field and some fine build up play saw the ball bounce kindly for the until now anonymous Andy Reid who volleyed the ball home with some style. The Glens pressed hard for the equaliser and Ross came to the rescue again as he tipped a ferocious Craig Feroz shot over the bar.  The keeper then could only look on as Paul McMullan thundered in a shot from the edge of the box but it whizzed past the post in the failing light. The visitors held on and took all three points from a game that a gutsy Glens performance deserved at least a share of the points. Full time Glens 0 Beith 1

Glenafton: Fahey; Connolly, McGregor, Merrilees, Moffat; Doyle, Howie, Ramsay, McMullan; Savage, Zok Subs Cameron, Eeles, Feroz
