GLENAFTON ATHLETIC 4 ARDROSSAN WINTON ROVERS 3
Scorers : Seenan, McMullan, Ramsay (2)
Trialist Craig Seenan fired the Glens into the lead with a cracking finish to beat the keeper at the near post. Paul McMullan so often the provider over both games, turned scorer after his free kick doubled the home side's lead. When Dougie Ramsay made it 3-0, the Glens appeared to be cruising to retaining the Joe Meldrum Trophy. However, Winton Rovers pulled one back only for Ramsay to restore the three goal cushion with a header before the break. Half-time Glens 4 Winton Rovers 1
The visitors then punished some defensive lapses by the Glens and hit back with two second half goals. Indeed only a fine save by Chris Fahey and then the woodwork prevented the North Ayrshire side from bagging a deserved equaliser. The Glens held on to their lead and to the JMT Trophy.
