Neilston Juniors 3 GLENAFTON ATHLETIC 1
A high tempo first half saw both teams create a number of chances. The home side took the lead in 20th minute after surviving a frantic goal mouth scramble, finally clearing their lines at the third attempt, before breaking upfield where Bryers played a perfect one-two at the edge of the Glens box before drilling the ball home beyond Gary Matthews.
Within a few minutes the Glens were back on level terms as once again they flooded forward in numbers and when the ball broke to Jamie Doyle on the edge of the box he fired it home, with the aid of a deflection, past the helpless Brian Hewitt.
Half-time Neilston 1 Glens 1
The Glens had the home side pegged back for long spells of the second half but the nearest came to taking the lead was from a Chic Connoly 20 yard shot which hit the outside of the post with the keeper beaten; Hewitt having already denied Chic with fine saves from two previous atttempts.
With 15 minutes to go it was the Farmers' Boys that took their chance and took the lead. A free kick from the left was played to the back post where it was headed back along the six yard box for Stephen McGowan to slam home from close range. With the Glens chasing the equaliser the home side struck again through Sean McIlroy to claim all three points and end the Glens unbeaten league run.
