GLENAFTON ATHLETIC P Kilsyth Rangers P

Others Scores:

Pollok 1 Auchinleck Talbot 2; Arthurlie 1 Johnstone Burgh 0

Arthurlie 1 Johnstone Burgh 0

Both sides struck the woodwork on two occasions; both keepers pulled off some spectacular saves and both sides failed to finish with 11 men on the park. The only goal of the game came in the 69th minute when Marc McShane powerfully headed home a corner-kick. Minutes earlier Arthurlie had been reduced to 10 men when former Glens goalie Kevin Montgomery was sent off for saving the ball outside the box and denying a goal-scoring opportunity. Burgh were then denied the goal-scoring opportunity from the resultant free-kick when it crashed off the post.  With 10 minutes remaining Burgh were reduced to 10 men( second yellow card) after a late tackle on Hobbs; Hobbs received his second-yellow for (attempted) retaliation. Burgh may well feel aggrieved for taking nothing from the game, whilst the 10 men of Arthurlie deserve credit for still going for the win.

Man of the Match, Burgh keeper Alan Donahue makes another great save.
