Stagecoach Super League Premier Division

Scorers : Blair, Johnstone 2

The Glens were under the cosh for the first 20 minutes and could easily have been down by 3 goals. Only some brilliant saves by Garry Matthews kept them in the game. However, the Glens survived the onslaught and scored against the run of paly in the 34th minute. A sweeping move between the Glens front line, allowed Aggie to come in from the left wing and he sent a low swinging  cross to the back post and the on rushing  Brian Blair bulletted the ball past the keeper. Fiver minutes late the Glens exctended their lead. After further Maryhill pressure the Glens broke up the park and good work by Paul Deeney, and Stevie Agnew allowed Blair to square the ball to Darren Johnstone to score.

Half-time : Glenafton 2 Maryhill 0
Eight minutes into the second half Aggie was brought crashing to the ground inside Maryhill's box,the ref pointed to the spot,up stepped Darren, but a great save by the keeper prevented goal number three. Maryhill were still very much in the game and in the 75th minute their efforts were rewarded. Constant pressure by Hill saw their left back overlap and send a chest high cross into the Glens box and a diving header by Brian Dingwall  saw the ball flash past Matthews. The Glens were holding on to their slender lead but always looked dangerous on the break, this showed in the 80th minute when a great save by the 'Hill keeper from Blair kept it at 2-1. Inn the 87th minute  Garry again saved from another Maryhill attack, and his kickout from hand found big Darren bearing down on the hill goal and with the keeper rushing out to meet him,he cooly lobbed the advancing goalie into the empty net, game over.
Final Score : Glenafton 3 Maryhill 1
Glenafton: Matthers, McAninch, Joyce, Paterson (Cleeland), Stewart; Millar (Bingham), Blair, Murphy, Agnew; Deeney, Johhnstone
