SCOTLAND 3 Isle of Man 0
at Petershill
Scorers : Dingwall 2, Downs
Glenafton's Joe Carruth captained Scotland Juniors to a comfortable 3-0 victory over the Isle of Man in their final match of the quadrangular Statoil Tournament. Brian Dingwall (Maryhill) opened the scoring with a looping header and Robert Downs (Arthurlie) made it 2-0 with another header a few minutes later. Dingwall made it 3-0 after a dreadful mix up between the IOM goalie and his centre back.
Andy Essler (Maryhill) had a long range shot which thundered off the bar, whilst Stevie Agnew, a strong candidate for man of the match (along with Maryhill's Stevie Millar) saw his Beckham-esque effort from the half-way line deceive the keeper, but agonisingly just fail to dip under the crossbar.
